Dale Evans definition of a Cowgirl-
Cowgirl is an attitude, really. A pioneer spirit, a special American brand of courage. The cowgirl faces life head on, lives by her own lights, and makes no excuses. Cowgirls take stands. They speak up. They defend the things they hold dear.

8/26/10 - Had a great day at the NBHA race and am now qualified for state. I had to make 4 runs that day so luckily Big Red and Annie stepped up to the plate. While I didn't win a single check, I made 4 clean smooth pretty runs and went home happy with my horses. I have been working hard on awards aka breastcollars, for our district finals because I leave Sept. 1st for Texas. I have a ton to do there including the Red Dirt Music Festival in Austin, the Elite Race in Ardmore, a race in Duncun, OK and a few more things in between. Becky is driving out with me and Chad will fly out to drive home with me. Tonight is a race in MorganHill and then there are a few to choose from this weekend. I have a ton to do and Cassidy started high school so we will have to see what time allows.

8/10 - ACBRA Finals have come and gone and again, no good for me. I think its jinxed for me.....Bailey did awesome and won Friday and Saturdays race, placed 2nd Sunday, and won the open average!! Congrats to Bailey :O)

Delaney became sick so I ended up not setting up my booth afterall - Salinas can stay very cold and wet so I didn't want to worry about her in the bad weather there.

Becky and I went to Paso Robles to do a little wine tasting and hit up the Fair. We went to see one of Cross Canadian Ragweeds last shows, what a bittersweet day!I ran into great friends and clients while there like Deenise Heer and her husband Tyson, and also Sara Honegger who had been patiently waiting on her cust
om headstall.

I am heading to Texas soon to pick up a horse for Chad and to visit family. I need to lock in some dates to decide what show I can set up at while there! Until then, I will continue to create new things and stretch the imagination!

7/29 - Man does time fly! My oldest daughter will turn 14 tomorrow and I couldn't be more proud. She is such a sweet beautiful fun girl, I am very blessed. Barrel racing always has to take a back burner to my family so I count on great friends to represent Western Dove when I can't be out there. My newest team members are Janna Beam of Texas and Bailey Tuck of California.

I have become friends with Bailey and her family over the past year and have the upmost respect for her and her talents. She is a fierce competitor,  a hard worker, and sweet as can be. I have witnessed her make countless smokin runs and I know she will do me proud.

Janna has made a name for herself in the Texas Circuit rodeos and has hopes of qualifying for her first NFR. After her horse got hurt earlier this year, she slipped down out of the top 15 but she is hoping to climb back up. She recently competed in Calgary where she picked up checks and then headed to Salt Lake City and Spanish Fork Utah for even more paydays.

The ACBRA finals are around the corner and and then I head to TX in August for some personal business. I have been working hard on new tack, different styles, and innnovative creations. I truely love creating, so making tack sets is like artistic therapy for me. Please let me know if you have something in mind you haven't seen before and I will try to make it a reality!!

7/13/10 - today is Chads birthday, I am so lucky to have a great husband. While looking for random gifts for him, I somehow stumbled upon this blog and absolutely loved it........

There are certain times on our path when we realize that a crossroads is before us. Though on some level we embrace the change, another part of us hesitates. We get caught up in the moment, wanting so much to hold on to the illusion of the ideal that we almost miss the true meaning at the core of it all. We fear that others will judge us for the decisions we make, diverting our awareness from ourselves and the messages we receive from Spirit. We risk riding the wave of someone elses vision while putting our own on the back burner. This only denies us the opportunity to be ourselves. And at what cost?

I have made a conscious decision to heed the message I received from Spirit many years ago: "Follow the beat of your own drum." As we work on shedding more & more of our ego, we open ourselves more & more to the Source. We start viewing every experience, every person we meet, every place we live & travel to as a bridge to the Light. Everything we do, say, act & feel is in the name of progress. Why limit ourselves? There's so much to explore, to rediscover. The work we do is so crucial to raising our collective vibration. We need to wander, to travel, to explore. Though the work begins with each and every one of us, it shouldn't stop there. Get out there in the world & make a difference! Be the change you want to see & then watch it unfold before your very eyes! It's time to put the words into conscious action. Get on the bus & play like children...serious work can be fun, ya know!

Many blessings to all of you on your path. And keep wandering...the long strange trip is so worth it!!! Love & Light

7/12/10 - Lots is going on and there is never a dull moment! I went to a race at Posse Grounds in Salinas and we had a bad third barrel again. I was unable to go anywhere else until I headed to Gardnerville and I crossed my fingers it was a total fluke. Well, we had a great first and second and then BAM a jacked up third - somehow we pulled a second place finish in the 4D. Annie got some TLC and a hefty dose of Bannamine for Saturday, I didn't wiggle or touch her on the third and she ended up turning it great - we got a 3rd place check in the 2D. Chad, Delaney and I ran over to Tahoe for a late lunch and then back to the Corley Ranch for a awesome potluck. Sunday I switched to bute and Annie really felt great! We rocked the first and second, and again I left her alone on the third and we ended up 4th in the 2D after a new arena record was set that day! We made it home Sunday night, got a little work done, had Annie's hocks injected,  and then left town on Wednesday for our friends lake house near Tahoe. We had a blast there with our friends Jared and Shady Schneider but left Friday to see Sugarland at Ironstone Winery in Murphys, CA. The next set of plans includes heading to a ranch rodeo in La Honda, ACBRA finals in Salinas, and back to Gardnerville for their next race!!

6/1/10 - Had a fun time over at Diamond Bar this weekend for the ACBRA Memorial Barrel Race. They had a huge turn out and some fantastic runs. The ground was awesome and Shane always goes out of his way to make sure his facility is accomodating. I was able to see a lot of wonderful friends and customers which always makes a busy weekend that much better! Congrats to Cynthia Fancher getting 2 checks, and Charleen Ornalles for winning the 2D Sunday. Christy went to Marysville Rodeo and placed down the line on her horse Moose, and Bailey Tuck got 2 checks in the 1D and won the saddle for the drawing. Western Dove did a lot of business, thanks to all the help from Chad. I have a few custom sets to work on and I ordered some new stuff today for the next race I set up at.
Annie worked great all weekend and we got a check in the 3d on Saturday and Sunday! That was 5 checks in a row after like a year of downed barrels or falling in the cracks!! But, my streak had to end when I screwed up on my third barrel Monday and Annie reminded me she knows what she is doing. She has a very influential way of letting me know to quit getting in her way, and just let her do her job!! Chad leaves for Texas Thursday and I am hoping to get to Sacramento on Saturday and Stockton on Sunday.

5/24 - What a busy weekend! My mother in law came to town Wednesday night to visit and stay with Delaney during all my bridesmaid duties. Friday we had the Rehearsal dinner at Jardines in San Juan Bautista and then the party afterward at Daisy's Bar.

I stayed with Amanda at the Posada and we both woke up way too early Saturday morning. But that gave us plenty of time to veg before getting ready and all ruby'd up. Amanda wore her Western Dove hoodie on the big day so I think thats a good sign for her marriage!
Good friends and family were there to help in any way, and I loved seeing Lalo and Jon - my fellow bridesmaids! Lalo did the readings and Jon was on the brides side with me for the ceramony.
The ceramony was beautiful in the mission and the reception was fabulous in the barn. The lights came out amazing, the food was insane (my sister catered the wedding and used all locally grown organic vegitarian dishes) and the DJ rocked.
Now my besty is leaving for ten days to go to Hawaii for her honeymoon, so I will miss her sooooo much!!  I am playing catch up on Western Dove stuff and will be in Ceres Friday for the weekend. Please come by and visit!!
5/17 - Its been awhile, but I have been to the Spring Run classic, Red Bluff, Hilmar, and Salinas. In between all those races I have been working, wine tasting, and being a wife and mom! Amanda and I went wine tasting around Hollister and had a great time!

Then Chad and I went to Murphys and went wine tasting!!

Then this past weekend Amanda, me, Jenny, my sister Amy, Susan, my mom, and my friend Debbie went wine tasting around Gilroy for Amanda's bachelorette party!

Sunday I went to Hilmar and got a check in the 2d!!! Delaney came with me and I finally had to throw her in the water trough to keep her happy. I was so thrilled to see my favorite other D, miss Delaina too!
Last weekend I went to Salinas and got a check in the 2D!! Before that, I had hit a barrel at every race I went to, so these two checks cost me about $2000 dollars in past entry fees with no qualifying times!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally feel like I may be on the right track and not soo much stress going to enter up. Chad has the bug and wants to start entering some rodeos soon, so we may be fighting for the trailer.
I am in my best friends wedding this weekend so a very busy week ahead. Next weekend is Memorial Day so I will be set up in Ceres for the ACBRA race! Hope you all can make it out, good luck, and safe travels!
3/28 - I have rode two days in a row! The sun has been shining for three weeks now so the ground dried up and I am able to ride at home finally. I hope to have my horse legged up in time for the Spring Run in Ceres, CA in April. Chad even rode his horse yesterday, so things are looking up.

We went out Friday night to see James Otto with my friends Devon and Araceli so that was fun.

The show actually sucked (sorry James, but you did) but we made the best of it!! We left after the music stopped and went to a dive bar down the road. It was a late night, not home till 3am ~ Saturday Cassidy had a soccer game over at the coast so I went to her game, did some shopping, and laid down on the beach for a little while. Chad and I have been working on the house and hope to get pretty settled in before summer. There is still more fence to build, a barn to build, weed control, ..... its a long list. Easter is around the corner so we will be at the Big Wheels Race in San Francisco Sunday!
Christy went to Nevada for the Laughlin rodeo and Ellie has been making runs all over Texas. They are doing great and representing Western Dove well!!

3/18 - March has been the most beautiful month ~ the sun is out, the flowers are blooming, the pastures are green-I love it. I haven't rode much other then Red bareback to go check on the pond with Chad and Delaney.  I love to ride too when its not about getting ready for a race but rather just enjoying the day and the horse I am on.

3/12 - Had a great time at the Zac Brown Band show in San Jose. I met Amanda and Concetta for dinner first and then we hung out at an old dive bar we use to frequent. It wasn't as divey as it once was but drinks were still cheap :O) The concert was good, love the reggae infused sound he has. I am trying to stick to the schedule I layed out so I hope to get organized enough to do it all!! I also did a complete transformation on my hair ~ I think I can even go unrecognized! I will have to get a picture soon and show you all so you know who to look for. I have done it crazy before, but its been a good 8 years or so. Its just hair, have fun with it!!

3/8 - I think I have finally decided on my schedule ~ whoo hoo! The official dates, times and places are as follows:

March 19-21st - King City Barrel Race
March 26-28th - Rancho Murietta Quarter Horse Show
April 9-11th - Ceres, CA Spring Run Classic
April 24-25th - Stephenville, TX Lonestar Arena TSU College Rodeo
April 30-5/2 - Stephenville, TX Cowboy Capital 5D Barrel Race

3/1 - OK, my pitty party is over! Its a new month, the sun is out, and I have got to get busy ~ My birthday was uneventful, but sometimes thats the best thing. Chad and I went out to dinner Saturday night, we ate at Maurizzio's in Morgan Hill, sooo good. Then Sunday I went wine tasting all day with Araceli around Hollister. We had a great time and enjoyed talking with so many people!

Christy won the 1d on Sunday in King City and placed on her horse Moose on Saturday. Ellie is up in Bay City this week and we are hoping it brings good luck to her. Chad had won there a few times back in the day so we are sure its gonna bring good juju to Ellie and Bogie! As far as my barrel racing days, they are yet to come. The shoer is coming this week and then I should start to ride asap! I am mapping out where I will go to next with the booth ~ Delaina and I are hitting the road again very soon!! I will post some updates on where I will be as soon as I lock it in.
2/24 - Its 2 days before my 33rd birthday and I am cooped up in the house. I was suppose to set up in King City for the weekend, but without a babysitter I would rather keep Delaney confined at home. She is a wild child with an independant spirit, and I am too exhausted to chase her around a barrel race while trying to do business. Good luck to all my friends going - may you all bring home big checks and be safe!
2/4 - Tonight we are going out to the Big City!! For the first time ever, I am heading to Club Rodeo in Downtown San Jose to see Clay Walker. While I can honestly say I am not too sure how the show will be, I am stoked about seeing some locals at a country bar! Wish me luck!

1/30 - I was suppose to be entered up in King City this weekend and have my booth there, but life happens. So, I am working on updating my web page and getting better photographs if possible.
However, I did take a break from "work" to go meet my best friend Amanda in San Jose because she was picking up her wedding dress. In true bff style, we got the dress and walked to the closest dive bar. Nothing like a bottle of champagne, Blue Moon Beer, "Scar Face" playing on the TV's, and take out food from Aqui's. It was just what the doctor prescribed for me and my blues!!

1/23 - Ellie ran in Ft. Worth last night and said her horse worked great. She managed to flip her reins over Bogie's neck going around the first, but continued to make a smokin' run. They only bring back the top 50 so we are crossing our fingers she will make it to the finals. Christy and Bailey Tuck are leaving Thursday and run Saturday night there. Christy will be sporting a brand new bling breastcollar I made for her, it should really make Naughty sparkle!!
I will be in King City for the weekend and will have my booth and my horse there. Please stop by and check out some new inventory I will have.

1/18 - Christy and I made it out of Buckeye, AZ just in time. The rain was falling while we loaded horses and it continued to storm for most of our drive. Luckily we had a great weekend so the trip was worth it. I ran Friday after Christy talked me into it and I ran a 17.7 just cruising through! I was really excited after my run because I wasn't asking her to run and it came pretty easy, although we hit our third barrel due to my over rating! Saturday I thought I would run harder but then chickened out and pulled Annie into the first barrel. Sunday I was gonna leave em' standing so I took an extra stride by each barrel and finally had a clean run with a 17.8. Christy was just out of the 1d Saturday with a 17.3 and then came back on Sunday to run a smokin 16.8!!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2CWoGRwawI
Delaina is in Buckeye now for the pacwest race and I wish her well in the mud down there!

I have some cool new clothes coming in next week and I can't wait to see them! Christy and Bailey Tuck are heading to Ft. Worth next Saturday and Ellie Dabney is up next Thursday - good luck girls!! I am heading to King City but maybe just for one run. I hope the weather clears soon so the poor horses can get out of their stalls.

1/13 - Cross Canadian Ragweed and Randy Rogers Band at "The Independant" in SF. Two of the greatest bands ever and I hope they keep coming back to Cali. I went with my bff Amanda and my sister in law Susan, and then ran into an old friend from my Fox Racing days ;o) Great show, Les Lawless of RRB played the tamborine for me during CCR's set since last time I brought it, they made me coat check it ( I have a fantastic light up tamborine I bought during CCR's visit to the Paso Robles Fair before). Anyway, good times, the greatest music, and fun people!

1/11 - This weekend I was able to hang out with some friends, and we had a great time at the Crab Feed in Hollister. Chad and I went and left Cassidy to babysit Delaney for the first time (she did a fantastic job). We met up with Jene and Todd Mathis, Conchetta and her boyfriend Mike, and Kristy and Mitch Bourdet.

We all put our bibs on and cracked crab, peeled shrimp, and drank ourselves silly. It was good times and I think I won't be eating seafood for awhile. On Sunday we headed over to Lisa French's to ride and Cass was happy to see Lacey Bourdet.
I have a fuol week ahead as I have the vet coming Tuesday to do my mare's teeth and geld our colt, the horse chiropractor coming Wednesday and then CROSS CANADIAN RAGWEED that night. Thursday my mother in law is coming for the weekend and Christy Colgate and I are heading to Buckeye, AZ till Monday. I hope I can muster the energy to get it all done!
1/7 - Welcome to a fabulous New Year! 2010 is going to be the year of growth, great success, and awesome barrel racing! I have been working on a new team to represent Western Dove and I think I have two exceptional ladies to help me.

Christy Colgate is from California and really making a mark on the rodeo scene. She is a stand up gal with a great attitude and a lot of drive.

Ellie Dabney is young lady out of Georgetown, TX. She has had tons of success in the high school rodeo arena and is taking the pro rodeos by storm.  I know they will represent Western Dove well and were selected as sponsored athletes because of their ambition, drive, positive attitude, and great taste in tack! They have both supported me and my business so I am thrilled to be able to support them with their dreams! Good luck ladies - Christy is heading to Greg Oslon in Buckeye, AZ next week and Ellie is up at Odessa, TX tomorrow!

12/28 - Christmas was nice and I am trying to recover from a cold. I got quite a few cd's like George Strait, Jason Aldean, John Mayer, Miranda Lambert, and Carrie Underwood so I have had music playing nonstop. Cassidy got me the first season of "Friday Night Lights" which is the greatest show on TV. I now have season 1, 2, and 3 so a road trip may be in my future so I can watch countless hours of my show! If you haven't seen it yet, go on Amazon and get the 3 seasons, I promise you will love it. If you don't, you need counseling.
We went to the beach house for the night and the weather was perfect. We celebrated my sister Amy's birthday and stayed up watching "The Hangover" . The next morning we went down to the beach and Cass had a hard time keeping Delaney out of the water. We left mid day and met Chad in San Jose for Christmas in the Park. Life is good!
The rain has come again and it puts a damper on my plans to ride. I still haven't decided on Tulare as there are a lot of races coming up and I need to figure out what works best for me and my family. I hope I can make it and I hope you all have a safe New Year! Resolutions?

12/22 - My Little Black Dress Party was so much fun! I was behind schedule of course, but luckily everyone invited already knows thats how I roll!

We were all in our dresses and it was fun to be in something besides jeans for a change.

Anyone looking for a super entertaining game to take to a party, pick up "Would you Rather". Its a no brainer, you can drink while you play, there are very few game pieces involved, and it is sure to make you bust a gut!! Thanks to all my friends for coming, looking fabulous, and bringing wine!

(This is the end of the night, look who's left standing!)

We are off to the beach house today for the night so I have to wrap this up. Merry Christmas to all and be safe!

12/18 - The finals were amazing!! I can't believe the bulldogging for one - dang Luke! How about Cody Ohl and the calf gettin up? Of all the runs for that to happen. Tuff Cooper had a flawless week, congrats on the average. Trevor is a sentamental favorite in our house and I was so stoked to see him take the calf roping world title. He is a dedicated competitor and nothing comes easy.

Billy Etbaur ended the NFR with a bang, he never disapoints.

Brittany Pozzi had an inspiring week for me. She came in, handled the pressure, and just flat out showed what a talented rider she is. Congrats to her and her rising star Duke.

I am ready for my party tomorrow and then Christmas is around the corner. New Years race is only two weeks away and I think a lot of women are ready to start fresh and step it up a notch. I am going to work on being consistent and trusting my horse. She is being as great as she can be so its time I let her do her thing! Chad has hopes of going to some rodeos next year so I would like to be able to enter with him too. Afterall, we only have one rig so we best be headed to the same arenas!

Merry Christmas to all, be safe, and thank you for the business and support!

12/12 - The final round of the NFR is tonight and I can't remember the last time I was so worked up over a rodeo!! The steer wrestling is awesome, the team roping is setting arena records, and the barrel racing has been intense. Brittany and Duke are an amazing pair, Sherry and Stingray just keep on pounding out smokin' runs, and Lindsay and Martha are taking care of business.
Next weekend I am having some girlfriends over for a "Little Black Dress" Party. No husbands, boyfriends, or kids - just us ladies! I am making some signature cocktails and a huge dinner. It should be a ton of fun. No plans for barrel racing until New Years in Tulare I guess. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

12/1 - The first day of December and where has the year gone? The NFR starts in just 2 more days and we even called to get cable installed!! We have gone the last 3 years without ESPN and finally decided we had to have it for the finals this year.
King City was a great 3 day race co-sanctioned with PacWest and the WPRA. There were some very tough circuit girls out this weekend and I was so proud of Annie for running in the 1D both Friday and Saturday!! She was working like a super star and I know she has room to still fire more. If I could just trust her and quit overriding her she would be kicking some booty!! That will come in time as we started out the year running about 3 to 5 seconds off the fast time - the turtle can beat the rabbit if it just keeps on moving forward. Thats been our theory this year. Let it happen in time and don't want too much too soon. I am so stoked to end the year where we are. Sunday I hit a barrel but its just because she was working so great that I overrode her more and she rated and turned just like I asked. I love my Annie, she is such a great horse :O)
Jenae and Concetta had picture perfect runs all weekend too so I am thrilled for a good weekend for all. Cassidy and Delaney had to hang out all day Saturday and Sunday but they are good little troopers. Cass stayed with Jenae and her daughter Casey on Saturday so she had a bit more fun then mom. Christy Colgate is now a sponsored rider of Western Dove and she placed in all three rounds, winning the 1D on Sunday and taking the 1D average. She has a great horse and the right attitude, and I am happy to have her as a member of my team!! She  will be going to WPRA rodeos with the hopes of becoming the rookie of the year for our circuit. Good luck Christy!!

Chad and I were going to head to Vegas this week but I think we are staying home now. Just too much is going on and since we will have cable, we can enjoy the finals from the comfort of our own living room. I hope to go to Thorsons race this Saturday and maybe the race in Brentwood on Sunday. Hope to see you down the road!!
11/26 - Tulsa and the WPRA finals went really well. The weather was great all week and my booth was beside the arena. Congrats to all the winners, it was some fierce competition. The Barrel Racing was pretty good watching and I enjoyed watching the roping events too. I ran on Friday and Saturday but didn't get a check still. I had Annie's stifles done ther Tuesday by Dr. Robin Johnson and I could tell Annie was still a bit sore Friday. Saturday she made a beautiful run just out of a check in the 2D and she wasn't even on fire then. I made some wonderful new friends while in Tulsa too. Lexie and Natasha Simmons were working the booth beside me and we hung out quite a bit. I also had the pleasure of meeting Danny and Denny of Bunkhouse Conversions - if you are looking to get your living quarters done, they are two stand out guys.
Sunday we had Thanksgiving with the Texas family and then we headed home Monday. We went to Gustine to my grandma Dovey's for Thanksgiving today and I miss my family! It was nice to see them and I wish I could have stayed longer.
I am off to King City this weekend so please come look for me there. Delaney and Cassidy will be ther with me so I should be very worn out by the end of the weekend!

11/8 - The drive to Texas went well and we all showed up on schedule. Thursday we headed to Stephenville for the Cowboy Capital Barrel Racing Finals and set up the booth for the weekend. Delaina did a fabulous job of representing Western Dove and I really appreciated all her work. Annie worked great but we had a few down barrels to keep us from placing. I am so happy with the way she has been out here, I think I have a whole new faith and confidence in us!! We went to the Jud Little Ranch two different times for a lesson with Lyndee Stairs and that helped us both too. I ran Friday night at the Cowboy Colesium in Ft. Worth Stockyards and that was a whole new experience in itself. We were up in slack but got there late, so we were cinched and booted up for a while not knowing how fast things would go. I am soooo proud of Annie and me because we went cold turkey - never even saw the arena or the barrels - until we ran up the alley way towards the first barrel. I think we were both a little awe struck but we managed to have a nice clean run. I head for Tulsa tomorrow and will be there all week!!

10/20 - I am heading to Texas and Oklahoma this week!! I will be in Stephenville at the cowboy capital finals Oct. 29-Nov. 1 with my booth and my horse. I have DelainaTaketa coming along with me as my road warrior and helper. Delaney and Annie will be along for the ride too and I am running Saturday and Sunday. Then I have a week of downtime where I will do some shopping and hit up the Dallas market. I might enter Friday or Saturday down at Northside in the Ft. Worth Stockyards - it would be good for me and Annie to do a little rodeo run. Then Nov. 10th through the 14th I will be in Tulsa for the WPRA finals. I will have my booth set up in the expo hall and will be trying to catch as much of the finals as I can. I am going to run Annie in the Tuesday night jackpot, and again Friday and Saturday. They are having an open 4d those days so it will be good to get more runs under our belt. I will have new tack, new clothes, and Janel Flook's barrel racing log books. If you havent' received your copy yet, stop by and get them from me. I will also have some handmade one of a kind wooden picture frames, buckle cases, mirrors, etc. done by Missy Tuck of Splinters.
Last weekend was the NBHA state finals and it was a long trip. Annie always needs a good day to settle which in turn makes me nervous because I am never sure she will work. Well, she worked great and I am thrilled with her yet again. I just rimmed the first barrel on Friday and pulled it over when leaving, but we loped through and ran a 15.9 with the fast time being a 15.03. Saturday Annie was a runnin' and we smoked a 15.506 with the fast time being a 15.09. We ended up 16th in the 1D, just 4 holes away from a check!! Sunday we made a nice first barrel but just didn't leave it in the right position to set us up for the second, sooo I bowed around it and then overrated on the third. I ended up running a 16.1 and fast time was again a 15.09. I was only a few holes out a check in the 3D but I was mad at myself for messing up what started out as a good weekend. I know it was my fault so I have faith Annie will learn to make up for my mistakes soon enough.
Jene Mathis and her daughter Casey were there with me and we all had an enjoyable weekend. We didn't have hook ups and our generator decided to blow a fuse while Jene was in the shower!! Needless to say, it was a rough time at moments. My mom came and helped me with the booth so that was much appreciated. We were lucky enough to have the booth next to Missy Tuck and her "Splinters" creations. It was great to see Baily Tuck win Thursday and Friday, place Saturday and Sunday, and take home the 1D average!!

9/29 - I have had Annie adjusted and am getting ready for the NBHA STate finals in Tulare next weekend. Jene and I are heading over Thursday and we are looking forward to making some money!! Last weekend my friend Hayley and her husband came to visit and we had a great time!!
We went out and had fun, did a little wine tasting, ate a lot, and watched football. Not the same kind of partying we use to do, but we are old and married now.

9/14 - NBHA Dist. 12 had their finals Saturday at the Posse Grounds. It was a bitter sweet race for our director Trudi Bordi as she retired after the race. She has done a wonderful job and is such a great lady that its going to be hard to fill her shoes!! I ran Red and Annie so that I could be qualified for state and they both worked good. Annie has been needing a chiropractic adjustment for more then a month now but she showed it in Salinas more then ever. She still tried to work but when she threw out her back lead going into the first barrel, I slowed down and tried to safety up for the rest of the run. I have to start trusting she is going to work because she is such a fast athletic mare, but I am a whimp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Red was just a bit of a butt going into the gate, but he worked good once I got him in the arena. No checks YET AGAIN (for the love of GOD, can I get a check anywhere please???? ) but I was happy with my herd. Cassidy and Delaney were there with me and I have to thank John and Janel Flook for helping me set up my booth. I don't have much to sell anymore but we put out some tack and jewelry and Cassidy worked the booth and babysat!!
I have to give a big congrats to Jenae, she made an outstanding run on Mylo and broke a 17 on a standard pattern. She was in good spirits and we were in the same drag, so I just reminded her to frikken' run her horse the whole dang pattern becuase he will turn on the drop of a hat. She did just that and he worked great for her. She didn't get a check either but she did get 2nd in the year end 3D on her horse Blue Duck.

Cassidy, Delaney, Chad, and I high tailed it out of our house and over to the beach house Saturday after the race.  We were the only ones there so it was nice and quiet. Delaney and I had gone over Thursday night for my moms' birthday so we had already had a good dose of sea air. Chad and the girls had fun and the waves were huge!! I loved Delaney's hair in this picture!!
Cassidy had a soccer game in Santa Cruz on Sunday so we all went to cheer her on. They won the game and then we went to lunch in Capitola. Afterward, we headed home and worked on the barn, which it rained that night!! Now I am trying to get caught up and clean my house before Hayey comes (today is her 30th Birthday by the way).

9/10 - King City was a great race to go to. I brought Annie and Big Red and they were both consistent all weekend. Red ran in the 3D everday but no check. I loped Annie through Friday and got a check in the 4D, they I sucked it up and came back to breeze through in the 2D Saturday and Sunday.

Jenae had two good runs but tipped a barrel each day. Her horse Mylo is really nice so I expect great things to follow for them.

Janel Flook did great and picked up a couple of checks over the weekend. She was definitly the big winner out of the three of us so I was happy for her.

This weekend is the NBHA district 12 finals so I am running both horses again so that I can have enough qualified races for State in October. I might be setting up my booth too if I can get motivated, although most of my inventory is up in Murphys.
Today is my mom's birthday and she is over at the beach house. Delaney and I are heading over there for the night to celebrate and then Janel and I will be gonig to a bead show in San Francisco on Friday.
I am VERY EXCITED because my friend Hayley and her husband are comming to visit next weekend, so I am looking forward to some good ol' fashioned fun!! Watch out - The Dancin' Queens will be out busting a move!! I will take some pictures and put them up, they are sure to be entertaining.

8/28 - We have officially set up shop in Murphys, CA. Chad, Delaney, and Cassidy helped my mom and I get all moved in. The space looks great and I hope that folks will enjoy our products as we intend to add more cool things as time goes on. New western pillows are available and other items.
We are carrying equine artwork by Leslie Anne Webb...

I have a ton of new jewelry, and after doing quite a bit of research I see now that I am way UNDERPRICED!! But, I am not changing it just because other stores get away with ripping girls off!!
I am still working on things and Chad thinks its a good time for pictures!
We were able to get 2 really nice display cases from my great grandma's old store.
Murphys is a super cool little town located in the Sierra foothills and is the biggest growing wine region in the world. The main street is only about 1/2 a mile long but it is packed full of wine tasting, eateries, and really adorable shops. I think we have the only cowgirl space in town but doesn't everyone want to be a cowgirl anyway?? Check out the link so you can plan a weekend getaway www.visitmurphys.com
I had my mare's hocks injected on Friday so I am hoping both my horses are sound to enter King City this comming weekend. PacWest is having a 3 day race and Jenae is heading down with me. I am still trying to plan a trip to Texas but other things keep popping up on the days I try to go.

8/10-16th - The ACBRA finals are over and done with so I packed up for Tahoe. I spent a week there with my mom, stepdad, Cassidy, and Delaney and it was wonderful. I met up with some dear friends who now live in Fallon, NV named Frank and Sandi Valdez, so it was great to see them. Chad came up on Friday and we had some "alone" time over the weekend as my mom took the kids home with her. Chad and I took the boat out Saturday and cruised all the way around the lake stopping in Incline, north shore, and doing a little swimming in Emerald Bay. We got dressed up and went out in south shore Saturday night and played some craps and blackjack. It was a fun little break from all the housework we have been doing.
I am now working on inventory to go in a shop in Murphys, CA. The store called "The Arbors Co-Op"  is located on the main drag right down the street from the Twisted Oak Winery and Muir Vineyards Tasting Room. I will have lots of jewelry, some clothing, a little stone tack, and some home decor there. If you are in the area, or need a little vacation, detour to Murphys and check it out. The grand opening is Labor Day weekend so it should be fun!

8/3 So I am a huge fan and wanna be groupie of Cross Canadian Ragweed (greatest band ever!!).

They were in California for a few tour dates and I was able to take Cassidy, her friend, and my dear friend Janel Flook to see them in Paso Robles. They played two shows and were awesome of course. I found the coolest light-up tamberine for sale at the fair and I sent Cassidy out to buy it for me in the middle of the show!! I then went the next night to their show in San Francisco with my sister, her girlfriend, and my BFF Amanda. They played at "The Independant" and we got in free because we have connections with our bartender friend Lonnie. Again, superb show and they played 3 hours of rockin' kick ass songs. At the very end of the show Cody Canada saw I was a die hard fan and handed me his tie!! I am a smittin kitten :o)

Salinas wasn't any good to me, I tipped my second barrel when leaving it. Just barely, but down it went. Chad entered Merce
