Dale Evans definition of a Cowgirl-
Cowgirl is an attitude, really. A pioneer spirit, a special American brand of courage. The cowgirl faces life head on, lives by her own lights, and makes no excuses. Cowgirls take stands. They speak up. They defend the things they hold dear.

1/4/2012 Happy New Year! So many great things to come this year and I hope to keep my motivation strong. My Annie has been working like a top and I think I am finally in the mindset to ask something of her ~ not quite all she has, but a bit beyond cruising through. We have been lucky to make it to more weekly jackpots which helps with our timing and training. We have picked up quite a bit of 1d money and the occasional "W" when we leave all our barrels up so I am a very proud owner... she is definitley that once in a lifetime horse that has taught me more then I ever realized I needed to learn.

My 4 year old Stoney is coming along great too and I hope to futurity him come December. He is looking beautiful, rippling muscles, gorgeous color and coat, and a kind curious spirit! Cassidy is on the Varsity girls soccer team and we have been running around like crazy getting to practice and games. She's a tough little cookie so I am so proud of the dedication she has put into her sport! Chad started a new management position for the same company but at a branch in Salinas, and he started to turn Big Red into a head rope horse. Delaney is growing fast and is the smartest little girl I ever met, we are a very lucky family!! Now if I can just discover a million dollars in the backyard tucked away in a lunch box my life will be complete!
My sponsored riders are such amazing ladies. Bailey is now married and has been kicking some booty at barrel races! She clocked a 16.7 on a standard pattern on her horse Spy so thats some good jou jou for the upcoming rodeo season! Ellie has a new horse she will be running and will be back on Bogie now that he had a little time off to heal up some underlying issues. Christy too had to give her mare Naughty some time off for issues but she hopes to come back strong this Spring. She has a few new superstars in the barn that are due for training and seasoning but I have all the faith in my selected gals!!
Lots of new tack on the horizon and clothing to keep on coming ~ Lots of luck and love in the New Year for everyone!!

12-12 The NFR was amazing this year, what a battle!! I loved every event honestly and found myself picking the winners for the world ~ LOVED IT!!! I went to Vegas the first weekend and watched round 1, saw the Pistol Annies, and did a whole lot of shopping. Then the C-N arena in Lemoore hosted the first futurity of the season and it was a huge success. A ton of nice horses ran in the futurity and derby and then over 150 in the open!! New hoodies are available now at Western Dove and tack sets are being sent out in time for Christmas! Happy Holidays!

11-4 Let the Holidays roll on in!! The fall rodeos have almost wrapped up with only Brawley left for the year here in California. The ACBRA Finals have come and gone as well and now I am trying to be patient with the NFR in less then a month!!! I will have jewelry at the South Point with Churchills Western Wear and maybe some tack too so please stop in to get Cinch and Cruel Girl there with some great accessories to match!!

8-13 ~ I have been so busy making jewelry because I found a ton of great pendants!! Debbie Churchill from Churchills Western Wear travels to shows all over and she has been carrying Western Dove Jewelry from some time now.... she keeps me busy and usually has the bulk of my inventory. I have been able to make it to more barrel races the last two months and Annie is working like a top! We are being very consistent and have been in the 1D every race. We picked up a check at a CCPRA rodeo in Turlock and ran in the top 10 everyday in Gardnerville.

Delaney did her first lead line barrel race and loved every second of it!!

Cassidy had her 15th Birthday party and we spent it at a barrel race and then dinner and a movie - she's growing up so fast!

We are heading to Lake Tahoe next week and will be running at another CCPRA rodeo in Yerington, NV.  School will be back in session very soon and then we will switch over to that schedule... summer has blown by and been unusually cool at our house!

7/12/11 ~ The root of all evil is greed and money.... I see it all too often with our government, with "the man", the food produced, the garbage piling up, and the pollution all made by the consumer driven world. Its a vicious cycle that we almost all fall victim to. We loose the ability to be content, to appreciate what we have, to acknowledge our health, our loved ones, our world. I'm not trying to go off on a soap box but everyday I see it. And I am guilty of it... but I try to think beyond what I want all the time and remember to focus on what I already have. If I do want something and I want to act on it, its because it is something unique and relevant to me, not what someone else thinks they can brainwash me into "needing" or telling me its the next big thing. I want what is made from a creative spirit, with aching hands, and pride in the outcome. I don't want what is made from a pattern developed by a team of specialists, I want a creation that evolved with no limits or boundaries of freedom to be what it can be.

When all the trees have been cut down,
when all the animals have been hunted,
when all the waters are polluted,
when all the air is unsafe to breathe,
only then will you discover you cannot eat money.

7/1/11~ time flies..... its already summer! The spring was tough at our house with a whole lotta rain and a lotta cold. Horses didn't get much riding so they still seem to be pretty fat and happy. I think I made it to maybe 4 or 5 barrel races and never did set up Western Dove mobile! I was able to spend some great times with my friends and I did make it to Texas for Easter.

I have also been busy making tack sets and jewelry. Every single piece I create is one of a kind, and thats not always easy. But, I don't want to fall victim to mass producing something because its easy. There are so many things imported from China now it makes me sad! I know that I have beads and pendants that may be made overseas, but at least I am using my brain to create something original out of it.  You will never see another person wearing the same necklace or having the same tack set..... they are all designed one by one! If you can pick it up at the flea market, you won't find it on Western Dove!
We just returned from a second trip to Texas and I was again disappointed with the lack of original items available. Thats not to say people aren't out there doing it, but stores are falling victim to only carrying whats convenient and cheap! They maximize their profits from the consumer by having accounts with big companies supplying mass produced crap!!! Take the time to search for the little guy ~ it may cost more, it may not, but you are getting quality and uniqueness and that should be more important....
Lots of love from my family to yours ~ cheers!

2/15 - New Years has come and gone, January went by without a hitch, and now here it is February. My biggest goal this month was to see Ryan Bingham on the kick off of his Cali tour ~ I had three shows planned with 6 different people and only made it to one. Thank you Krystie for tolerating me, I tried my best to rally!

I came down with a sinus infection that knocked me on my arss, so I just couldn't drag myself out. I sent my husband out with my sister, her girlfriend Susan, my bff Amanda, and of course Debbie a.k.a. Sassy Boo to the SF show. I am happy to report they are all fans now and even bought CDs at the show.
We have the NBHA race coming up on the 19th where we will be debuting our fundraising shirts for Breast Cancer. I have been sicker then a dog and haven't rode so I think I will just be there selling :O)
Ellie and Bailey have been rodeoing hard this winter and I wish them the best of luck!!

12/11 - What a monumental NFR! Huge congrats to Trevor Brazile, what an amazing athlete! I wish rodeo cowboys got the same kind of recognition as other pro athletes, there is no comparison to the dedication it takes to compete at such a level. Sherry Cervi also showed what a lifetime of devotion to horses and riding can produce - Sting Ray is so cool. We have a 2 year old half brother to Sting Ray so I have some hopes for him. We call him "Second Chance" because we named him after Chads great horse Chance we had to put down due to injury. Watch for him in the future - he is a cremello so you can't mistake him for anything else.
I also loved watching Angie Meadors run Mulberry Canyon Moon. I have been following the career of this mare since Troy Cromrine had such huge success with her. My mare Annie is out of Martha Six Moons like Mulberry and they are sure built alike and even chomp on the bit the same right before they run!
I went to an Ugly Sweater Party last night in Oakland with some friends, and lets just say there was some people watching going on!!

I'm now just finishing up a few more custom orders and trying to get in to the Christmas spirit!! Please remember to be thankful for all our blessings and know that the holidays are better spent with family then spent away shopping for gifts! Cheers!

12/9 - Viva Las Vegas! I love the NFR, every event, every run and ride! I had a great time with my friends and know we are good people to have 5 girls in one room for 4 days!

We partied, we shopped, we watched the finals, and we went to a club called "The Bank" at the Bellagio and saw Brett Micheals.
Now I am home and back to work. I donated 2 breast collars to the first futurity of the year held at C-N arena in Lemoore, CA. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

12/1 - December!!! Where has the year gone? I leave for Vegas tomorrow morning and will be there with 4 of my friends. I will have tack and jewelry at the South Point, and maybe a few clothing items too! I worked really hard to come up with new designs for jewelry and tack, so please check them out - its not always easy to try different things!!

Check out my awesome ad in www.BarrelRacingReport.com this week, it features Bailey Tuck and looks fantastic! I made a breastcollar for Tracy and Dusti Swan to take to the BFA in OKC to be raffled off, so check them out there if you are in the neighborhood.
Here's to a fantastic NFR and Holiday Season!

11/27 - Thanksgiving has come and gone - time for VEGAS!! NFR starts next Thursday and I will have tack and jewelry at booths in the South Point Vendor Hall. I will also try to have specials throughout the month for anyone wanting to save money for Christmas. Please try to support the people, not the corporations!! Companies like mine are done for the love of it, not to make a profit and send jobs to Asia! I work in my kitchen and dining room, I personally design and make each item myself. I dont' have laborers or a team in other countries - I have great friends and clients that help refer my business. Thank you to all, its very much appreciated! Being a vendor is tough but life on my terms is the best way to live!

11/15/2010 - Tulare was ok, but not great. Christy and Bailey both won money so I am happy for them. I sold out of Western Dove hoodies so that makes me grateful.

Cassidy ran Red for the first time in a TO on Thursday and then we went to King City Friday night. I ran last hole in the 2D so no check there. Sunday we did the Coats for Kids Race in HIlmar and they had 137 entries! Cassidy ran Red in the Youth and won the 3D!! Then she decided she wanted to run again and was drawn up dead last - she won second place in the 4D and took home over $300 and prizes! I was so proud of her! Delaina was there also and got a check in the 3D!!

11/4/10 - I am getting ready to head to Tulare for the weekend race. I am excited to go with Christy Colgate, I know we will have a great time and super fast runs!! Bailey Tuck will be there too so I hope to get some new pics of the ladies sporting their Western Dove clothing and tack.
I had Annie and Reds teeth done by Leslie Penhollow and I can already see a huge difference She is an awesome equine dentist and I am thrilled to have her work on my horses. She will be representing Western Dove at the circuit finals in Oregon at the end of the month with a custom breastcollar so I wish her much success.

10/29/10 - Halloween is around the corner and there are a ton of barrel races too! I have two horses to run but neither seem sound enough to haul! So with Christmas sneaking up on us too, I will work towards new ideas! I am featured in the November issue of Barrel Horse News. They were nice enough to show tack and tees in their gift guide! I ran Annie and Red at the TETWP race a couple weeks ago but neither horse felt even 75% ok.

10/13/10 - So much has happened, lets start at the beginning. I left for Texas on Sept.1st with Delaney, Beckie, Annie, and a friends horse that was being dropped off. Our trip was uneventful, and we arrived Friday afternoon at my mother in laws. We left for Austin Saturday morning and had a fun convertible to drive, whoo hoo! We stayed with our friend Kelly and went to the Red Dirt Music Festival at Nutty Browns.

Sunday we went tubing down the Comal River in New Bruenfuls and then into Gruene for dinner and the Charlie Robinson show at Gruene Hall.
We drove home that night with the top down, went to bed, and left at 7:30am for Ardmore, OK and the Elite Barrel Race. Annie worked great but no check :O( We loaded back up, headed to Denton and then to Ft. Worth.

Billy Bobs was hosting the "Picking for Preamies" accoustic show and it was amazing!! We loved every second of it.

Becky left at 6am Tuesday morning and I headed for Duncon, OK Friday morning for another race. It was sooo hot, I didn't even set up my booth. Again, Annie worked great and we ran in the 2D all weekend but no checks! Headed back to Denton and went to Dallas Market, ran at the Cowtown Colesium in Ft. Worth, Stephenville to stay with a friend, a Dallas Stars Hockey game, the Grapevine "Grapefest", the Bart Crow concert at 8.0's in Ft. Worth, and another accoustic show with Cody Canada and Seth James in Denton.
Chad was out for the last week and we had a great time seeing friends and family. Our drive was long but again pretty safe.
I couldnt wait to get home and see Cassidy so peddle to the metal!
Then this past weekend we had NBHA State Finals and it was a blast. It rained the first night but it was welcome because it washed all the dust off. We placed twice and ended up leaving with $700 in winnings! Bailey Tuck won Thursdays race, placed second in the 1d FRiday and Saturday, but hit a barrel Sunday to win the average. Delaina did great too but hit a barrel Sunday night for the youth 1D win! Sara Honegger ended up winning a buckle in the youth, and Krystie got a check Friday and Sunday! My booth did great too and I can't thank my wonderful friends enough for all their help! Sara Honegger, Krystie Hinkle, Delaina Taketa, Deanise Heer, and more! I love my friends and their giving hearts! I had an incident with my truck on the way home and again had friends to help me home. Thank you Jene Mathis, Concetta Gardner, and Nicole Nelson!

8/26/10 - Had a great day at the NBHA race and am now qualified for state. I had to make 4 runs that day so luckily Big Red and Annie stepped up to the plate. While I didn't win a single check, I made 4 clean smooth pretty runs and went home happy with my horses. I have been working hard on awards aka breastcollars, for our district finals because I leave Sept. 1st for Texas. I have a ton to do there including the Red Dirt Music Festival in Austin, the Elite Race in Ardmore, a race in Duncun, OK and a few more things in between. Becky is driving out with me and Chad will fly out to drive home with me. Tonight is a race in MorganHill and then there are a few to choose from this weekend. I have a ton to do and Cassidy started high school so we will have to see what time allows.

8/10 - ACBRA Finals have come and gone and again, no good for me. I think its jinxed for me.....Bailey did awesome and won Friday and Saturdays race, placed 2nd Sunday, and won the open average!! Congrats to Bailey :O)

Delaney became sick so I ended up not setting up my booth afterall - Salinas can stay very cold and wet so I didn't want to worry about her in the bad weather there.

Becky and I went to Paso Robles to do a little wine tasting and hit up the Fair. We went to see one of Cross Canadian Ragweeds last shows, what a bittersweet day!I ran into great friends and clients while there like Deenise Heer and her husband Tyson, and also Sara Honegger who had been patiently waiting on her cust
om headstall.

I am heading to Texas soon to pick up a horse for Chad and to visit family. I need to lock in some dates to decide what show I can set up at while there! Until then, I will continue to create new things and stretch the imagination!

7/29 - Man does time fly! My oldest daughter will turn 14 tomorrow and I couldn't be more proud. She is such a sweet beautiful fun girl, I am very blessed. Barrel racing always has to take a back burner to my family so I count on great friends to represent Western Dove when I can't be out there. My newest team members are Janna Beam of Texas and Bailey Tuck of California.

I have become friends with Bailey and her family over the past year and have the upmost respect for her and her talents. She is a fierce competitor,  a hard worker, and sweet as can be. I have witnessed her make countless smokin runs and I know she will do me proud.

Janna has made a name for herself in the Texas Circuit rodeos and has hopes of qualifying for her first NFR. After her horse got hurt earlier this year, she slipped down out of the top 15 but she is hoping to climb back up. She recently competed in Calgary where she picked up checks and then headed to Salt Lake City and Spanish Fork Utah for even more paydays.

The ACBRA finals are around the corner and and then I head to TX in August for some personal business. I have been working hard on new tack, different styles, and innnovative creations. I truely love creating, so making tack sets is like artistic therapy for me. Please let me know if you have something in mind you haven't seen before and I will try to make it a reality!!

7/13/10 - today is Chads birthday, I am so lucky to have a great husband. While looking for random gifts for him, I somehow stumbled upon this blog and absolutely loved it........

There are certain times on our path when we realize that a crossroads is before us. Though on some level we embrace the change, another part of us hesitates. We get caught up in the moment, wanting so much to hold on to the illusion of the ideal that we almost miss the true meaning at the core of it all. We fear that others will judge us for the decisions we make, diverting our awareness from ourselves and the messages we receive from Spirit. We risk riding the wave of someone elses vision while putting our own on the back burner. This only denies us the opportunity to be ourselves. And at what cost?

I have made a conscious decision to heed the message I received from Spirit many years ago: "Follow the beat of your own drum." As we work on shedding more & more of our ego, we open ourselves more & more to the Source. We start viewing every experience, every person we meet, every place we live & travel to as a bridge to the Light. Everything we do, say, act & feel is in the name of progress. Why limit ourselves? There's so much to explore, to rediscover. The work we do is so crucial to raising our collective vibration. We need to wander, to travel, to explore. Though the work begins with each and every one of us, it shouldn't stop there. Get out there in the world & make a difference! Be the change you want to see & then watch it unfold before your very eyes! It's time to put the words into conscious action. Get on the bus & play like children...serious work can be fun, ya know!

Many blessings to all of you on your path. And keep wandering...the long strange trip is so worth it!!! Love & Light

7/12/10 - Lots is going on and there is never a dull moment! I went to a race at Posse Grounds in Salinas and we had a bad third barrel again. I was unable to go anywhere else until I headed to Gardnerville and I crossed my fingers it was a total fluke. Well, we had a great first and second and then BAM a jacked up third - somehow we pulled a second place finish in the 4D. Annie got some TLC and a hefty dose of Bannamine for Saturday, I didn't wiggle or touch her on the third and she ended up turning it great - we got a 3rd place check in the 2D. Chad, Delaney and I ran over to Tahoe for a late lunch and then back to the Corley Ranch for a awesome potluck. Sunday I switched to bute and Annie really felt great! We rocked the first and second, and again I left her alone on the third and we ended up 4th in the 2D after a new arena record was set that day! We made it home Sunday night, got a little work done, had Annie's hocks injected,  and then left town on Wednesday for our friends lake house near Tahoe. We had a blast there with our friends Jared and Shady Schneider but left Friday to see Sugarland at Ironstone Winery in Murphys, CA. The next set of plans includes heading to a ranch rodeo in La Honda, ACBRA finals in Salinas, and back to Gardnerville for their next race!!

6/1/10 - Had a fun time over at Diamond Bar this weekend for the ACBRA Memorial Barrel Race. They had a huge turn out and some fantastic runs. The ground was awesome and Shane always goes out of his way to make sure his facility is accomodating. I was able to see a lot of wonderful friends and customers which always makes a busy weekend that much better! Congrats to Cynthia Fancher getting 2 checks, and Charleen Ornalles for winning the 2D Sunday. Christy went to Marysville Rodeo and placed down the line on her horse Moose, and Bailey Tuck got 2 checks in the 1D and won the saddle for the drawing. Western Dove did a lot of business, thanks to all the help from Chad. I have a few custom sets to work on and I ordered some new stuff today for the next race I set up at.
Annie worked great all weekend and we got a check in the 3d on Saturday and Sunday! That was 5 checks in a row after like a year of downed barrels or falling in the cracks!! But, my streak had to end when I screwed up on my third barrel Monday and Annie reminded me she knows what she is doing. She has a very influential way of letting me know to quit getting in her way, and just let her do her job!! Chad leaves for Texas Thursday and I am hoping to get to Sacramento on Saturday and Stockton on Sunday.

5/24 - What a busy weekend! My mother in law came to town Wednesday night to visit and stay with Delaney during all my bridesmaid duties. Friday we had the Rehearsal dinner at Jardines in San Juan Bautista and then the party afterward at Daisy's Bar.

I stayed with Amanda at the Posada and we both woke up way too early Saturday morning. But that gave us plenty of time to veg before getting ready and all ruby'd up. Amanda wore her Western Dove hoodie on the big day so I think thats a good sign for her marriage!
Good friends and family were there to help in any way, and I loved seeing Lalo and Jon - my fellow bridesmaids! Lalo did the readings and Jon was on the brides side with me for the ceramony.
The ceramony was beautiful in the mission and the reception was fabulous in the barn. The lights came out amazing, the food was insane (my sister catered the wedding and used all locally grown organic vegitarian dishes) and the DJ rocked.
Now my besty is leaving for ten days to go to Hawaii for her honeymoon, so I will miss her sooooo much!!  I am playing catch up on Western Dove stuff and will be in Ceres Friday for the weekend. Please come by and visit!!
5/17 - Its been awhile, but I have been to the Spring Run classic, Red Bluff, Hilmar, and Salinas. In between all those races I have been working, wine tasting, and being a wife and mom! Amanda and I went wine tasting around Hollister and had a great time!

Then Chad and I went to Murphys and went wine tasting!!

Then this past weekend Amanda, me, Jenny, my sister Amy, Susan, my mom, and my friend Debbie went wine tasting around Gilroy for Amanda's bachelorette party!

Sunday I went to Hilmar and got a check in the 2d!!! Delaney came with me and I finally had to throw her in the water trough to keep her happy. I was so thrilled to see my favorite other D, miss Delaina too!
Last weekend I went to Salinas and got a check in the 2D!! Before that, I had hit a barrel at every race I went to, so these two checks cost me about $2000 dollars in past entry fees with no qualifying times!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally feel like I may be on the right track and not soo much stress going to enter up. Chad has the bug and wants to start entering some rodeos soon, so we may be fighting for the trailer.
I am in my best friends wedding this weekend so a very busy week ahead. Next weekend is Memorial Day so I will be set up in Ceres for the ACBRA race! Hope you all can make it out, good luck, and safe travels!
3/28 - I have rode two days in a row! The sun has been shining for three weeks now so the ground dried up and I am able to ride at home finally. I hope to have my horse legged up in time for the Spring Run in Ceres, CA in April. Chad even rode his horse yesterday, so things are looking up.

We went out Friday night to see James Otto with my friends Devon and Araceli so that was fun.

The show actually sucked (sorry James, but you did) but we made the best of it!! We left after the music stopped and went to a dive bar down the road. It was a late night, not home till 3am ~ Saturday Cassidy had a soccer game over at the coast so I went to her game, did some shopping, and laid down on the beach for a little while. Chad and I have been working on the house and hope to get pretty settled in before summer. There is still more fence to build, a barn to build, weed control, ..... its a long list. Easter is around the corner so we will be at the Big Wheels Race in San Francisco Sunday!
Christy went to Nevada for the Laughlin rodeo and Ellie has been making runs all over Texas. They are doing great and representing Western Dove well!!

3/18 - March has been the most beautiful month ~ the sun is out, the flowers are blooming, the pastures are green-I love it. I haven't rode much other then Red bareback to go check on the pond with Chad and Delaney.  I love to ride too when its not about getting ready for a race but rather just enjoying the day and the horse I am on.

3/12 - Had a great time at the Zac Brown Band show in San Jose. I met Amanda and Concetta for dinner first and then we hung out at an old dive bar we use to frequent. It wasn't as divey as it once was but drinks were still cheap :O) The concert was good, love the reggae infused sound he has. I am trying to stick to the schedule I layed out so I hope to get organized enough to do it all!! I also did a complete transformation on my hair ~ I think I can even go unrecognized! I will have to get a picture soon and show you all so you know who to look for. I have done it crazy before, but its been a good 8 years or so. Its just hair, have fun with it!!

3/8 - I think I have finally decided on my schedule ~ whoo hoo! The official dates, times and places are as follows:

March 19-21st - King City Barrel Race
March 26-28th - Rancho Murietta Quarter Horse Show
April 9-11th - Ceres, CA Spring Run Classic
April 24-25th - Stephenville, TX Lonestar Arena TSU College Rodeo
April 30-5/2 - Stephenville, TX Cowboy Capital 5D Barrel Race

3/1 - OK, my pitty party is over! Its a new month, the sun is out, and I have got to get busy ~ My birthday was uneventful, but sometimes thats the best thing. Chad and I went out to dinner Saturday night, we ate at Maurizzio's in Morgan Hill, sooo good. Then Sunday I went wine tasting all day with Araceli around Hollister. We had a great time and enjoyed talking with so many people!

Christy won the 1d on Sunday in King City and placed on her horse Moose on Saturday. Ellie is up in Bay City this week and we are hoping it brings good luck to her. Chad had won there a few times back in the day so we are sure its gonna bring good juju to Ellie and Bogie! As far as my barrel racing days, they are yet to come. The shoer is coming this week and then I should start to ride asap! I am mapping out where I will go to next with the booth ~ Delaina and I are hitting the road again very soon!! I will post some updates on where I will be as soon as I lock it in.
2/24 - Its 2 days before my 33rd birthday and I am cooped up in the house. I was suppose to set up in King City for the weekend, but without a babysitter I would rather keep Delaney confined at home. She is a wild child with an independant spirit, and I am too exhausted to chase her around a barrel race while trying to do business. Good luck to all my friends going - may you all bring home big checks and be safe!
2/4 - Tonight we are going out to the Big City!! For the first time ever, I am heading to Club Rodeo in Downtown San Jose to see Clay Walker. While I can honestly say I am not too sure how the show will be, I am stoked about seeing some locals at a country bar! Wish me luck!

1/30 - I was suppose to be entered up in King City this weekend and have my booth there, but life happens. So, I am working on updating my web page and getting better photographs if possible.
However, I did take a break from "work" to go meet my best friend Amanda in San Jose because she was picking up her wedding dress. In true bff style, we got the dress and walked to the closest dive bar. Nothing like a bottle of champagne, Blue Moon Beer, "Scar Face" playing on the TV's, and take out food from Aqui's. It was just what the doctor prescribed for me and my blues!!

1/23 - Ellie ran in Ft. Worth last night and said her horse worked great. She managed to flip her reins over Bogie's neck going around the first, but continued to make a smokin' run. They only bring back the top 50 so we are crossing our fingers she will make it to the finals. Christy and Bailey Tuck are leaving Thursday and run Saturday night there. Christy will be sporting a brand new bling breastcollar I made for her, it should really make Naughty sparkle!!
I will be in King City for the weekend and will have my booth and my horse there. Please stop by and check out some new inventory I will have.

1/18 - Christy and I made it out of Buckeye, AZ just in time. The rain was falling while we loaded horses and it continued to storm for most of our drive. Luckily we had a great weekend so the trip was worth it. I ran Friday after Christy talked me into it and I ran a 17.7 just cruising through! I was really excited after my run because I wasn't asking her to run and it came pretty easy, although we hit our third barrel due to my over rating! Saturday I thought I would run harder but then chickened out and pulled Annie into the first barrel. Sunday I was gonna leave em' standing so I took an extra stride by each barrel and finally had a clean run with a 17.8. Christy was just out of the 1d Saturday with a 17.3 and then came back on Sunday to run a smokin 16.8!!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2CWoGRwawI
Delaina is in Buckeye now for the pacwest race and I wish her well in the mud down there!

I have some cool new clothes coming in next week and I can't wait to see them! Christy and Bailey Tuck are heading to Ft. Worth next Saturday and Ellie Dabney is up next Thursday - good luck girls!! I am heading to King City but maybe just for one run. I hope the weather clears soon so the poor horses can get out of their stalls.

1/13 - Cross Canadian Ragweed and Randy Rogers Band at "The Independant" in SF. Two of the greatest bands ever and I hope they keep coming back to Cali. I went with my bff Amanda and my sister in law Susan, and then ran into an old friend from my Fox Racing days ;o) Great show, Les Lawless of RRB played the tamborine for me during CCR's set since last time I brought it, they made me coat check it ( I have a fantastic light up tamborine I bought during CCR's visit to the Paso Robles Fair before). Anyway, good times, the greatest music, and fun people!

1/11 - This weekend I was able to hang out with some friends, and we had a great time at the Crab Feed in Hollister. Chad and I went and left Cassidy to babysit Delaney for the first time (she did a fantastic job). We met up with Jene and Todd Mathis, Conchetta and her boyfriend Mike, and Kristy and Mitch Bourdet.

We all put our bibs on and cracked crab, peeled shrimp, and drank ourselves silly. It was good times and I think I won't be eating seafood for awhile. On Sunday we headed over to Lisa French's to ride and Cass was happy to see Lacey Bourdet.
I have a fuol week ahead as I have the vet coming Tuesday to do my mare's teeth and geld our colt, the horse chiropractor coming Wednesday and then CROSS CANADIAN RAGWEED that night. Thursday my mother in law is coming for the weekend and Christy Colgate and I are heading to Buckeye, AZ till Monday. I hope I can muster the energy to get it all done!
1/7 - Welcome to a fabulous New Year! 2010 is going to be the year of growth, great success, and awesome barrel racing! I have been working on a new team to represent Western Dove and I think I have two exceptional ladies to help me.

Christy Colgate is from California and really making a mark on the rodeo scene. She is a stand up gal with a great attitude and a lot of drive.

Ellie Dabney is young lady out of Georgetown, TX. She has had tons of success in the high school rodeo arena and is taking the pro rodeos by storm.  I know they will represent Western Dove well and were selected as sponsored athletes because of their ambition, drive, positive attitude, and great taste in tack! They have both supported me and my business so I am thrilled to be able to support them with their dreams! Good luck ladies - Christy is heading to Greg Oslon in Buckeye, AZ next week and Ellie is up at Odessa, TX tomorrow!

12/28 - Christmas was nice and I am trying to recover from a cold. I got quite a few cd's like George Strait, Jason Aldean, John Mayer, Miranda Lambert, and Carrie Underwood so I have had music playing nonstop. Cassidy got me the first season of "Friday Night Lights" which is the greatest show on TV. I now have season 1, 2, and 3 so a road trip may be in my future so I can watch countless hours of my show! If you haven't seen it yet, go on Amazon and get the 3 seasons, I promise you will love it. If you don't, you need counseling.
We went to the beach house for the night and the weather was perfect. We celebrated my sister Amy's birthday and stayed up watching "The Hangover" . The next morning we went down to the beach and Cass had a hard time keeping Delaney out of the water. We left mid day and met Chad in San Jose for Christmas in the Park. Life is good!
The rain has come again and it puts a damper on my plans to ride. I still haven't decided on Tulare as there are a lot of races coming up and I need to figure out what works best for me and my family. I hope I can make it and I hope you all have a safe New Year! Resolutions?

12/22 - My Little Black Dress Party was so much fun! I was behind schedule of course, but luckily everyone invited already knows thats how I roll!

We were all in our dresses and it was fun to be in something besides jeans for a change.

Anyone looking for a super entertaining game to take to a party, pick up "Would you Rather". Its a no brainer, you can drink while you play, there are very few game pieces involved, and it is sure to make you bust a gut!! Thanks to all my friends for coming, looking fabulous, and bringing wine!

(This is the end of the night, look who's left standing!)

We are off to the beach house today for the night so I have to wrap this up. Merry Christmas to all and be safe!

12/18 - The finals were amazing!! I can't believe the bulldogging for one - dang Luke! How about Cody Ohl and the calf gettin up? Of all the runs for that to happen. Tuff Cooper had a flawless week, congrats on the average. Trevor is a sentamental favorite in our house and I was so stoked to see him take the calf roping world title. He is a dedicated competitor and nothing comes easy.
Billy Etbaur ended the NFR with a bang, he never disapoints.

Brittany Pozzi had an inspiring week for me. She came in, handled the pressure, and just flat out showed what a talented rider she is. Congrats to her and her rising star Duke.

I am ready for my party tomorrow and then Christmas is around the corner. New Years race is only two weeks away and I think a lot of
